A TRIBUTE TO ANTS
(c) 7/00, Todd Silva

Marching to formation
Darn critters messing up my yard
Gonna nail 'em just as fast as I can
And then send 'em right back to where they belong
Cause after all, they're pretty small
So they can't be very useful
In this big universe of ours
Think I'll decide the fate of an unlucky one

Well I thought about 'em later on that day
Gazing out my office window
From the top level of my high-rise
Overlooking everything in our grand design
As I looked down at the disorganization
	Everyone with a critical mission
Going just as fast as they can
To who knows what, or where, or who even cares, oh no

You know it hit me, that we look a lot like them
Hurrying and scurrying, from one emergency to the next
You know it struck me, they may be crazier than we are
		Imagine if you can
They don't just like their work
		They really love their boss

But there seems to be a major difference
Between their ways and mine
The way they always stick together
And get the job done right in such little time
They have a simple, common goal
In which they never compromise integrity
	Each one making a contribution
Ain't it strange how they care about the common good of all

But I just can't reach acceptance
No matter how hard I try
Sharing my lawn with these guys
Give me one good reason, why should I?
I think I'll have to see my shrink
Because I just can't get rid of them
I sure hope this doesn't mean
I've got to learn to like them and we all have to get along

You know it hit me, that we look a lot like them
Hurrying and scurrying, from one emergency to the next
You know it struck me, they may be crazier than we are
		Imagine if you can
They don't just like their work
		They really love their boss
